Winter Pressures and Additional Appointments
NOTICE FOR PATIENTS
Until the end of March we are working with NHS England to offer extra GP appointments.
This is because we know that over winter lots of people have seasonal illnesses which require more than a pharmacy but don’t need emergency treatment.
The extra appointments are bookable 48 hours in advance or on the day if urgent. Please call the surgery if you feel you need one of these.
Reception is open Monday-Friday
Appointment times will vary by Doctor but in general are available between:
Morning 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
Afternoon 2 pm to 4:30 pm
Evening 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Saturday morning surgeries run once monthly from 8:30am to10:30am. All appointments have to be pre-booked.
Booked appointments are available up to 2 weeks in advance, where patients can usually see the doctor of their choice.
If you feel it is an urgent medical problem, please alert reception staff of this when you are booking the appointment.
Anyone who is infectious should inform Reception and you will be shown to a side room where you can wait for your appointment.
Extended Access appts at Hertsmere Practices
As part of extended access, appts are also available with other Hertsmere Practices during Weekday evenings and at the weekend. Please ask reception for more details. Please click on the link Extended Access Patient Information for more information regarding Extended Access Appointments
You can now book and cancel appointments online. See reception for your login details.
If you call us between 6.30pm and 8.00am weekdays, or at any time during the weekend, your call will be re-directed to our dedicated Out Of Hours service.
Keep it or Cancel It
Over the course of a week we see over 700 patients. Unattended appointments waste time and will prevent someone else from seeing their doctor.
If you know that you can’t attend your booked appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.
